dark light
"Every moment of light and dark is a miracle."
Walt Whitman
Low key images are usually created by underexposure with backlight. The animal can then only be recognized as a silhouette. Sometimes it is surrounded by a golden glowing wreath of fur or feathers. If the natural light does not favor a low key shot, post-processing the image offers many possibilities. When the background disappears into the darkness, the faces, and especially the eyes of the animal, come into their own.
