Japan's Wildlife
eagles – cranes – foxes – swans – deer
Hokkaido, the northernmost island in Japan, is a true paradise for wildlife photographers in winter. The vast, snow-covered plains, frozen lakes and dense forests provide the perfect backdrop for impressive shots of rare and majestic animals. The east of the island in particular is known for its rich wildlife. Here you can watch cranes in elegant dances, photograph sea eagles on the hunt, capture whooper swans on frozen lakes and spot red foxes in the frosty landscape. The sika deer that roam the snow-covered slopes also offer fascinating motifs.
